Green Tea Drinking Advantages to Health Benefit
Green tea in liquid form or as a dietary supplement or as extract can be beneficial to Your Health.
"In recent years, several studies have pointed to the health benefits of green tea...showing less lung, stomach and esophageal cancer, lower rates of cardiovascular disease and fewer strokes." reported New York Time.
It is a low-calorie drink and would be helpful for those trying to diet.
Green Tea Extract Diet - Green tea extract is rich in bioflavonoids-compounds that help fight damaging free radicals. It is an amazingly powerful antioxidant, which makes it a benefit to both immune and circulatory health.
One study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Green tea extract accelerates calorie burning through increased thermogenesis, particularly with fat calories. Scientists and researchers at the University of Geneva and other researchers at the University of Milan came to this same conclusion after a 10-week study showing significant weight loss in the test subjects.
The Polyphenols (epigallocatechin gallate, or EGCG), which make up an average of 50% of Green tea extract, may support weight loss by increasing energy expenditure and fat oxidation. Its drinking benefit is to help burn more calories.
Thermogenisis is the generation of heat that occurs as a result of the normal digestion, absorption and metabolization of food in the body. Ordinarily, thermogenesis accounts for approximately five to 10 percent of calories burned.Dr. Abdul Dulloo at University of Geneva found that by consuming green tea, either as a liquid or as a supplement or an extract, the percentage of calories burned as a result of thermogenisis increased nine to 14 percent.
2-3 Cups Daily Aiding in Dieting
The polyphenols antioxidant EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) found in this type of tea helps the body burn fat. With regards to the study in Switzerland, drinking green tea for the equivalent of 2-3 cups daily caused the participants to burn 80 extra calories each day, without increasing their heart rates and factoring out the tea's caffeine content.
The scientists tested it against caffeine alone to see if it was responsible for the increased expenditure of calories. Through the comparison, they determined that it was responsible for a greater level of energy utilization than caffeine by itself.
The boost in calorie burning is minimal, according to Dr. Sheri Zidenberg-Cherr, a representative of the public information committee of the American Society for Clinical Nutrition/American Society for Nutritional Sciences. But she adds that "it is very exciting that green tea can actually do this."
Green tea is not a diet-pill solution, she warned. Rather, it should be viewed as a regular beverage or supplement to be incorporated into a normal diet. "We do not know enough about it," she said.Green Tea Drinking Advantages to Health Benefit |

- to ward off heart disease,
- to help to prevent cancer,
- to restrict the increase of blood cholesterol
